San Diego Unified, California Student Aid Commission and San Diego/Imperial Counties Cal-Soap Join to Announce the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and California Dream Act Application is Now Open

San Diego Unified School District, local education leaders, and community organizations announced a countywide effort to increase Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and California Dream Act Application (CADAA) completion rates among high school seniors.
Each year, millions of dollars in financial aid go unclaimed—resources that could help low-income and first-generation students attend college, community college, or a career technical program. FAFSA/CADAA completion is critical to accessing federal, state, and institutional financial aid, including Cal Grants. Students who complete the applications are more likely to attend college and graduate.
This year’s countywide effort features more free workshops, one-on-one assistance, and multilingual resources to ensure equitable access. Through a collective impact approach, school districts, high schools, colleges, universities, and community partners will work together to increase completion rates.
All graduating seniors and their families are encouraged to complete the FAFSA or CADAA as soon as possible through their College and Career School portal at https://californiacolleges.edu or FAFSA Application at https://studentaid.gov or California Dream Act at https://dream.ca.gov.
